Fiber Optic Equipment

Bits and pieces of fiber optics cable and reel ends left over after fiber projects have been ending up in landfills for years. The timeline to decompose is unknown but it is estimated that fiber optics placed in landfills decades ago are still there.

Although the cables are often deemed “obsolete,” much of this electronic equipment can be recycled.

A large number of what is labeled as “e-waste” is actually not waste at all, but rather whole electronic equipment or parts that are readily marketable for reuse or can be recycled for materials recovery.
